About me

If someone told me even 3 years ago that I was going to be a runner I am certain that I would have looked back at them with a "deer in a headlight look"... Running!!! Me a runner?!? NOT A CHANCE!!!!!

My inspiration to run and most especially run marathons is my desire to show others that anyone can do it! Running in my opinion is an activity in which you only NEED two things! Obviously one of those things is a great pair of running shoes. This is an absolute must have!!!! The other thing you need is heart! You need to be able to push through the pain, to push through the overwhelming thoughts that you just can't do this! You can do this, you can run! Does it hurt at times, yes! Is it a challenge at times, yes! Are there times when you feel like you just can't take another step, absolutely yes! This is where your heart steps in and takes over for your feet!

As I stated above, I do believe ANYONE can be a runner, but you have to want it, you have to need it! It doesn't matter if your young, old, overweight or skinny...anyone can be a runner or a walker! I hope that by reading whatever I might right on this blog that I might inspire even one person to take on a more active lifestyle. Running and walking will open up doors for you that maybe to this point have never been opened.

If your goal is to run and complete a 5K or a 10K or even if you feel like you are ready to make the leap to bigger races, you CAN do it! It will be work, it will be hard work make no mistake about it! In the end however, when you cross that finish line, you can say that you accomplished something you never thought possible! You never know who YOU may inspire next!

A little more about me:

I am 37 years old, and I have been running since June of 2008! I have run 15 marathons, 8 half marathons, 1 sprint distance TRI and a bunch of shorter distances. I am married with 6 children. I live in Florida and North Dakota and travel quite a bit. I have been in the United States Navy for over 18 years.
